History

We started our journey since early 1991 with nominal welfare activity like short-term skill development training program at Hooghly, free health check camp at Sundarban areas in blessing of revered Swami Shasankananda Ji Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math.

After few days, revered Maharaj felt to organize a tangible executive body for the operational team. Maharaj selected few devotee-minded ex-trainees to act as executive body, and that was the gain grounding of the organization, named as ‘Belur Vivekananda Samaj Seva Sanstha’ in 1992-93.

Henceforth Maharaj changed the name of the organization as ‘Sarvik Vivekananda Gram Seva Sanstha’ in 1993-94 due to existence of another organization named as Belur Vivekananda Samaj Seva Sanstha.

Then we spread out day by day with skill development training for youth & health – relief allied activities specially in North / South 24 pgs, Hooghly, Bankura etc.
