Health Care Programme
Sarvik Vivekananda Gram Seva Sanstha’s a major activity is on Health Care Programme. The organisation is famous mostly for this achievement, Health. Our organisation runs it’s health programme mainly in Sundarban, the ‘Aila’ effected areas. But now the activity is not bounded in the Sundarban areas, it spreads in districts of Paschimbanga (West Bengal) and Odisha (Orissa) State in the India.
Sundarban is a land mass criss-crossed by rivers, rivulets and canals. It stands segregated and not easily accessible till recent past. Eventually the populaces of the areas poorer section in particular, have been deprived of modern medical facilities as deemed urgent and essential.
Against the above pitiful scenario of the area the Sanstha’s Mobile Health Programme has been taken up as a challenge to combat the alarming situation in health spheres in a part of North 24- Parganas.
The villages falling within four blocks of North 24 Parganas viz. Hingalganj, Hasnabad, Sandeshkhali – I & Sandeshkhali – II have been brought under this programme for intensive activities. With the help of a Medical Launch- duly equipped with necessary appliances for pathological tests and strengthened by a contingent of medical staff including doctors, technicians, helper- mobile health care services have been relentlessly rendered to thousands of patients since 1995-96. Furthermore general clinics, awareness camps, special medical camps, eye refraction, free eye operation camps have been held in the remote villages with a view to extend the periphery of the outreach of the services among the masses at large.
Now we are trying to start our Health Project in districts of Paschimbanga like, Paschim Medinipur, Purulia, Jalpaiguri and Balasore district in Odisha.
