Sarvik Vivekananda Gram Seva Sanstha conducted a comprehensive health care services including pathology & X-ray under guidance of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Govt. of West Bengal and Dept. of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal holding camps at remote villages as indicated hereunder :
The service programme is named as OPERATING MOBILE MEDICAL UNIT (CAMPS). This type of service has been organised for the really backward and poor people based areas of West Bengal, mainly in Jangalmahal – Purulia, Paschim Medinipur, Bankura & Jalpaiguri districts and in Sundarban – South 24 Pgs.
Multi-arrowed health services are available in this progamme. Various types of diagnostic tests are done. Mainly reproductive & curative health care are served to naturally and politically victim of remote areas of Jangalmahal & Sundarban areas.
Four types of cares are taken in the progremme. Special care for pregnant mother & children is highly prominent in the Reproductive part. General Physician medicine are served are in curative part. And often all types of Pathological Test like Blood, Urine, Stool are done in the programme. One important thing that the Radiological Tests (X-ray) are done here.
Per week six camp are holding at six different places repeatedly in a Block. The points are determined by the Block Medical Officer of Health (BMOH) by consulting with the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) of respective district.
A fully equipped van with Medical Instruments & Medicine is traveling to the camp spot daily from 10.00AM to 04.00PM with Medical staffs like – Medical Officer, Nurse, Pharmacist, Pathologist & Radiologist.
Often all types general purpose of medicine & cure are bearing into camp site, like – Analgesics, Antipyretics and Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory, Anesthetic, Anti-allergic, Antibiotics, Anti- Hypertensive drugs, Anti- diabetic drugs and others. Besides various vaccine injection, Saline water, drops for ENT, ORS, Condom, lotions, ointment, etc.
